Mediatavern and Advertising Week announced the launch of a virtual component for their yearly event in New York, which is billed as the largest annual gathering of advertising and media decision-makers in North America.
“More than just an industry celebration, Advertising Week is about inspiring young people to join our craft, focusing the industry and public at-large on the social impacts of advertising; and shining a bright light on the good stories which permeate the business.” Said Vice President of Marketing and Development Lance Pillersdorf “Mediatavern is the right strategic and production partner to help Advertising Week venture into new territory.”
Because the event takes place in Manhattan, the concept centers on creating a scale model loosely based on the Bryant Park area, anchored by the offices of Advertising Week .The virtual component of Advertising Week gives the public the opportunity to interact with advertising industry luminaries in real time. Avatars who would never otherwise have access to these resources can participate in the events. The breathtaking setting for Advertising Week includes avenues with street signs, phone booths, and a myriad of details that convey a sense of the city. The original design called for an emphasis on new arrivals: their logical “birth” location and ease of access to important areas: cafe, amphitheater, and sponsor storefronts. The design is focused on ease-of-use and navigation is intuitive. Advertising Week Island will host live events during the week of Sept 24-28th.
